Job Description:

Location: We support US virtual working arrangements in the contiguous 48 states.

The opportunity:

The Account Reconciliation Analyst will be reporting to the Director, State Filings, Financial Reporting. As the Account Reconciliation Analyst, you will be responsible for the preparation and timely submission of the Company’s management reporting for the account reconciliation process. You will collaborate and manage relationships with multiple business and support units throughout Sun Life.


How you will contribute:

  • Produce reports used to review account assignments

  • Work with other Business Groups to research and assign accounts to the appropriate Accountability Groups

  • Generate and distribute account reconciliation reporting templates to various Accountability Groups for completion in accordance with the distribution schedules for three different accounting bases

  • Analyze completed templates for accuracy prior to consolidating reconciliation data and statistics into a report for use by Senior Management

  • Partner with Business Units to reconcile state specific data for multiple companies and populate templates that are required as part of the annual financial statements

  • Act as a back-up resource to the State Filings team for critical tasks related to the regulatory filing process

  • Participate in state insurance department triennial examinations

  • Lead or assist with special projects


What you will bring with you:

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance, or related major preferred

  • 5+ years of job-related experience

  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications, specifically Excel

  • Experience with SAP Analysis for Excel a plus

  • Strong understanding of account reconciliations and related tasks and procedures

  • Self-motivated and the ability to work independently

  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to organize tasks to meet tight deadlines

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and verbal

  • Possess excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills

  • Business knowledge and experience related to the insurance and/or financial services industry

If you are a California resident, the salary range for this position is:

  • Southern region: $64,800 – 97,200 annually

  • Central region: $68,300 – 102,500 annually

  • Northern region: $73,000 – 109,600 annually


If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is
$61,800 – 92,800 annually.


If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is
$73,000 – 109,600 annually.


If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is
$68,300 – 102,500 annually.
