Programming Manager


 Reporting to AUD's Department Manager and working closely with AUD's Chair, Director of Communications, and AUD Faculty, the Programming Manager plays a key role in creating and enhancing current student opportunity and potential student engagement with the department, and in supporting institutional growth and development. To achieve these goals, the Programming Manager strategizes, executes, and supports a range of public programming and institutional partnerships throughout the academic year and across all AUD programs and campuses with a particular emphasis on programming during AUDs admissions cycles.

A priority for the Programming Manager is activating programming and partnerships to create coherence and community across AUD while maintaining a recruitment focus, as well as strategizing with the Director of Communications and others to conduct coherent and effective public affairs and relations, extending beyond traditional academia. Responsible for planning and coordination of events related to program marketing, student recruitment, and public programming particularly focusing on developing a pipeline to various AUD degree programs.

Required/Preferred

Experience with community engagement

Required

Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain/master scheduling for various concurrently running programs. Employ mechanisms to monitors project progress and provides regular status reports and updates

Required

Ability to learn UCLA's online systems for accounting, purchasing, scheduling, reimbursement, events, etc

Can be trained

Exceptional oral and written communication skills for working with students, faculty, administration, civic agencies, community members, donors, granting agencies, and foundations.

Excellent attention to detail in managing project timelines, expenses, and workflow.

Required

Skill with arranging events, exhibitions, symposia, both on campus and off.

Required

Ability and willingness to coordinate and collaborate with Department of Architecture and Urban Design, School of the Arts and Architecture, and other cross-campus entities as needed.

Ability to learn campus services such as Bruin Online, Parking, Travel, Digital Services, etc

Can be trained

Experience working with a team, organizing and executing a public-events program of lectures, conferences, and symposia on a detailed programmatic calendar

Knowledge and experience with social media, scheduling, and content management technologies

Initiate and set goals for programs based on the organization's strategic objectives.

Plan programs from start to finish, including identifying processes, deadlines and milestones.
