We currently have clinics located in Boulder (2 locations), Louisville, Longmont, and Erie.

Summary:

Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is seeking healthcare experienced customer service oriented candidates to join our Centralized Scheduling team! This position is benefit eligible working remotely full-time 40 hours per week Monday-Friday. Estimated number of phone calls fielded by a Centralized Scheduler ranges from 80-100 calls per day. Due to the demanding nature of this position, the ideal candidate will have medical office experience scheduling appointments and preferably experience scheduling appointments for multiple providers.

When hired, the selected candidate must be available to come on-site for new hire orientation for the first several weeks of employment before going fully remote.

Job Duties:

  • Answers the telephone by the third ring when possible, identifying name and department. Addresses scheduling needs in a friendly, efficient manner.
  • Repeats provider’s name, the date, time of the appointment, and location of appointment before completing the call. Promptly and courteously notifies patients of a provider’s absence and/or delays as needed.
  • When transferring a call, informs caller to whom and where the call is being transferred if at all possible.
  • Accurately records patient name, numbers and demographic information using correct spelling and punctuation.
  • Correctly schedules appointments according to provider preference and scheduling protocol. Displays awareness of and compliance with scheduling changes. Utilizes scheduling protocols as needed for each department and assist in updating as needed.
  • Reschedules appointments as needed, canceling previously scheduled appointment, calling the patient if needed.


Experience and Skills:

  • Must use good judgment, professionalism and discretion when screening telephone calls, answering inquires and relaying appropriate information.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain phone etiquette using tact and diplomacy.
  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong computer and data entry skills.
  • Must possess strong grammar and spelling ability as well as the ability to read, write and understand the English language.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates Degree or some college coursework in Business or Healthcare Administration, preferred.

Previous Experience:

  • Internal candidates must have six (6) months of service at BMC; required.
  • External candidates:
    • Must have two (2) years medical office experience with experience scheduling appointments.
    • Preferred experience scheduling for multiple providers

Colorado Residency Requirements:

  • For tax purposes, applicants must be Colorado Residents.

The starting hourly pay range for this position is commensurate with experience:

  • $18.36 - $23.50/hour (full pay range is $18.36 - $27.54)

Location:

  • Remote. When hired, selected candidate must be available to work on-site for initial new hire orientation.
