Hardware Purchaser/Sales Associate

Summary: This individual will oversee the purchasing procedures, inventory control, staffing schedules, pricing, merchandising, special orders and hardware displays of the retail store in addition to providing friendly customer service, processing orders from customers for delivery/pickup and loading customers when needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):


  • Ensure that hardware parts are in stock and available for customers
  • Marking special order tickets for customers
  • Managing the inventory control functions of the store by documenting and controlling damaged product, resolving discrepancies and making necessary corrections
  • Customer Service (phone and in-person) respond to inquiries regarding product lines, pricing, and availability of hardware parts.
  • Sales may assist with the counter or floor sales.
  • Setting up new product displays, taking down old displays
  • Store Maintenance – Product Signage
  • Managing price stickers
  • Stocking Shelves – filling in empty shelf spots, fronting product that need attention, tending to aisles and their appearance.
  • Product Receiving – unloading hardware product
  • Cutting open pallets, reconciling shipping tickets with purchase orders
  • Possess a strong sense of accuracy both in product and quantity.
  • Coordinate purchases amongst all store locations
  • Design and execute quarterly sales fliers


Supervisory Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and motivate one part-time employee in providing prompt, knowledgeable and friendly sales/service to our customers.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent

Mathematical Skills: A firm understanding of margins, markups and computation.

Availability: Monday through Friday 7am-4:30pm, Every other Saturday required 8am-12pm
