The Counseling Center support our student population with specialize mental health services, research coordination, alcohol, and other drug (AOD) issues, and/or eating disorders (ED). Conduct initial assessments, time limited individual, couples, and group psychotherapy; urgent care services; crisis response; consultation and outreach in a university counseling center. The Financial Analyst will manage the financial area of the Counseling Center for the department. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for all financial transactions and ledgers. This requires knowledge of recharge principles, material management to include purchasing and equipment acquisition principles, and policies and practices related to University and conference industry practices. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, due to the increasing number of events over the years. Uses professional concepts. Applies organizational policies and procedures to resolve various issues. Works on problems of limited to moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of multiple factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Contacts are primarily internal to the department, but may also be external.

Salary Range $29.26 - $51.29 (Hourly Rate)

Required:
  • 3-5 years or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrate skills in planning, preparation, and administration of department budgets.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Ability to gather reasonably retrievable information to organize, and perform basic financial analysis assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability using spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills at all levels within the unit; excellent service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Ability to function as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with diverse groups (faculty, staff, students, off-campus clients) to provide information, identify problems, and develop solutions.

Preferred:
  • Working knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
  • Time management and organizational skills to assess priorities and meet multiple goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated skill in financial analysis for a multi-million dollar budget with multiple fund sources.
  • Experience working in a clinical or health care setting. Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and various state and federal regulations related to health and safety.
  • Knowledge of recharge activities and operations of a recharge unit


Special Conditions Required:
  • May be able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • On occasion may need to work outside of normal hours to meet project deadlines or unexpected requests for financial data and/or analyses.
  • Optional hybrid work schedule available.
