Daycare Assistant


 

We are looking for a fun and energetic individual who is passionate about children and their development to assist teacher and the provider with the day to day activities to prepare young small children for kindergarten by easing them into organized education.

Your role is to support educators and caregivers in creating fun dynamic and happy environment for children to learn and play. This candidate must have a great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to care and support the program effectively include knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods as well as the ability to engage with children and earn their trust and attention. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education.

Must Have Skills
Fun, creative, energetic and personable
Proven experience working with 4-6 toddler in group or daycare setting
Understanding of the principles of child development
Familiarity with safety, sanitation guidelines for classrooms and natural to multitask
Excellent communication and instructional skills
Ability to act as mediator between children
Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen

Job Description:
- Fill in the gap by employing a variety of educational techniques to children in their play (storytelling, educational play, media etc.)
- Assist each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
- Organize nap and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
- Assist teachers and provider in tracking children's progress and milestone
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
- Create a stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment for the children
- Supervise children's activities at all times
- Supervise children for naps and bedtime
- Change diapers and potty train the children
- Teach the children good social manners
- Maintain professionalism in punctuality and dressing.

Desired Qualifications:

Completed Mandated Reporter Training
At least 1 year experience working with toddlers and preschools in daycare setting
Must have a complete full Covid-19 Vaccination
Have CPR and First Aid (EMSA certified)
Legal to work in the USA

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

  • Bonus pay

COVID-19 considerations:
All must be Covid-19 vaccinated and boosted in order to be inside the facility.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Childcare: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

  • CPR Certification (Required)
