We are looking for a passionate Usability Researcher to join one of our large Redmond-based technology clients. In this role as a research specialist, you will design and carry out studies to understand and quantify the user experience by addressing user flow issues within some of the enterprise tools the organization uses. The specialist will create research studies, set up research environments, and run usability studies to improve the overall function of these products. The team focuses on employee-based products. The primary objective will be to work on how working in a hybrid environment affects employees.

If you are the right fit, you are adept at working through ambiguity to establish a structure where it is needed, while also understanding how to zoom out to drive long-term design strategy. To get there, you know how to ask the right questions to identify potential strengths and weaknesses of the user experience. You will be working on a large team of multiple researchers so having the ability to collaborate well with a team is of great importance.

This is a full-time contract role, through December 2023, that can be done remotely. We'll only be able to respond to applicants who meet the basic qualifications for this role. We offer a strong benefits package for full-time employees, including insurance coverage, paid time off, sick leave, wellness days, and access to ongoing learning resources: https://www.steyer.net/benefits/ for more information about eligibility and offerings.

Required:
  • 3+ years as a Usability researcher running qualitative, quantitative, and benchmark studies
  • Understanding of how to influence design and direction
  • Working on studies and projects that directly affect an employees experience
  • Familiarity with interpreting data, analysis, and presenting research findings to key stakeholders
  • Document, present, and drive design changes through research and analysis
Pay rate range, depending on experience level: $50-$54/hr. W2.
