Job Description

About the role

  • The Factory of the Future Program Manager (FoF PgM DS & BP) Design Sprints & Blue Printing is an experienced professional in the principles of program and project management with specific experience in facilitating design sprints and development of technology blue prints.
  • He/she manages and reports on high priority projects so that associated governance forums maintain full awareness and understanding of progress, risks, and opportunities inherent for the individual projects or programs.
  • The FoF PgM DS & BP is an independent facilitator who develops and manages transformational portfolios for technical platforms.
  • He/She creates and oversees execution of global FoF roadmaps per OpU/Region and accelerates and scales FoF network initiatives. The FoF PgM DS & BP supports progress of portfolio expansion, escalates appropriately and reports on program performance in close collaboration with the OpU/Region Business Excellence teams responsible for execution.
  • He/She provides direction and navigation to team(s) to ensure translation of design sprints and technology blue printing activities outcome into a meaningful integrated roadmap of transformative initiatives and project plans.
  • He/She independently manages complex cross-functional teams, establishes and aligns appropriate strategies and plans to implement the initiative(s), and drives priorities/task assignments in-line with overall objectives/goals.

How you will contribute

  • Definition and Planning: Establishes and leads teams to perform design sprints and to establish technology blueprints to effectively connect technical platform portfolio plans to solve complex process or scientific challenges which create the basis to an overarching OpU/Region transformation and implementation plan to meet defined future state. Leading or co-chairing the development of proposals, charters and/or business cases for governance or stage-gate approvals. Develops a working relationship with Operating Units/Regions Business Excellence to support them in the execution of the agreed FoF projects. He/She supports feasibility assessments of blueprints to define/confirm the network strategy of projects deployment and contributes to rollout plans for portfolios of underlying technologies in alignment with the network strategy and global FoF roadmap.
  • Support defining of program/project’s scope, resource requirements, timeline and budgets. Oversee development of implementation plans utilizing program/project management techniques and other applicable tools. Organizing, facilitating, and documenting team meetings and workshops. Monitoring and Controlling Progress: Develops and maintains schedules, timelines, milestones, and performance reports. Maintains dialogue with platform leads for continuous portfolio plan refresh. Ensures value capture reporting is enabled and followed for the portfolios. Tracks progress towards accomplishing project milestones and deliverables in respective management reporting tools and templates. Identifies and finds solutions to resource conflicts and appropriately alerting management if issues cannot be resolved. Oversees network execution of the associated initiatives and project portfolios and monitors and confirms portfolio contributions and CAPEX requirements
  • Stakeholder Management. Provides input and updates to the senior leaders in accordance with the overarching program governance. Interfaces regularly with management to ensure appropriate level of stakeholder communication. Provides consistent portfolio messaging and reporting across OpU/Region and GMS/GQ network. Works with TMO and workstream leads to ensures that programs remain aligned to GMS/GQ strategies and top-down imperatives.
  • Organizational Change Management: Ensures effective stakeholder impact analyses is conducted before developing associated change strategy to maximize engagement and adoption of target audience. Ensures program plan remains aligned with key change management activities.
  • Knowledge Management: Ensuring all project documentation is current, complete, stored and shared in a way that is consistent with the TMO standards. Proposing improvements and best practices for governance, processes, tools, and templates to ensure the successful management and reporting of respective initiatives.

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Expertise in program and project management with industry knowledge of key principles, methodologies and tools
  • Experience in organizing and facilitating design sprints
  • Expertise in the translation of design sprint outcome into technology roadmaps and technology blue prints
  • Experience with large-scale programs requiring stakeholder management
  • Experience in leading cross functional, geographically dispersed, and matrixed teams

What you bring to Takeda

Education / experience

(Required)

  • Advanced degree (preferably in business, project management, or science, e.g. MBA, MS)
  • Minimum of a four-year bachelor’s degree, preferably in life sciences, business or engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 12+ years of progressive Project Management experience (including 4+ years of program management experience, and 10+ years in leadership roles in Manufacturing)
  • Project Management Certification (PMP or equivalent)

(Preferred)

  • Management Consulting or Biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry experience desirable
  • Six Sigma or Lean Certification
