- My client, a 300 bed hospital in GA, located about 2.5 hrs from Atlanta and near the AL border, has a brand new opening for a Pulmonary CCU Physician. This! is a “new†position in that it is a growth position. They currently have one other Internist working there now and she has been there for 3 months. Before that, the department had been run by the Internist and a PA (the Internist retired). You will likely work 7 on 7 off but they may be able to do 5 8s instead. They are building a new hospital so the ICU has already moved to the new hospital and the CCU will be soon (currently still in the old building and the Internist is going between the two). You will be seeing just the Critical Care patients, not the ICU patients. No sleep, no general pulmonology, just CCU patients. At this time, the Hospitalists take all the on call.
This town is located about 2 hours from Atlanta yet has everything you could ever want! Enjoy the Riverwalk that runs through town or the many museums, perf! orming arts center, historical centers, opera house, or the nu! merous parks in the restored downtown district. They also have a military base nearby as well as a university in town. This is the 3rd largest city in GA. From the history of the foot soldier, the Civil War and prisoners of war - the city is home to nationally acclaimed museums. Visitors stroll back to genteel times in the Historic District where brick streets, ancient oaks and century-old homes are the order of the day.
