The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking qualified cand! idates for the position of Hourly Internist covering Weekends/2 nd shift at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA.
Job Description
Candidates should be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with a career interest and/or experience in public hospital psychiatry. This Physician will enjoy collegial relationships with psychiatric medical staff and will provide hospital coverage on the weekends and 2 nd shift. This position addresses the medical needs of Adult and Forensic consumers and will diagnose, treat, and helps prevent diseases, physiological disorders and injuries of patients. Provides comprehensive medical services by examining patients, diagnosing conditions and providing treatments.

Qualifications
Graduation from a medical school recognized by the composite state board of medical examiners.
Licensure to practice medicine at a state institut! ion or in the state of Georgia as provided by state law is req! uired.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates, who in addition to meeting the qualifications listed above, possess the following:
Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Experience in treating persons with serious and persistent medical illnesses, and in providing care as leader and member of an interdisciplinary treatment team
Experience working with consumers in adult mental health, addictive disease, forensic psychiatry
Benefits
